Bad 4 U (A DJ Bang re-touch) - (9:11) 128 BPM
All Night Thang (Garrett David's Thang edit) - (6:01) 120 BPM
The Sun Shines (Mr Snippy's Long Form edit) - (7:33) 120 BPM
from $1.95
Review: In America 'persnickety' means 'pernickty', in other words these guys are all about the detail. They put this to good use on these three '70s/'80s tunes here with the highlight being a reinvigoration of Dee Dee Bridgewater's Paradise Garage anthem ""Bad For Me". Also included is a feelgood mix of "All Night Thang" by Garret David and Mr Snippy's edit of the bouncey singalong soul of "The Sun Shines".

I Don't Know (DJ Bang's Work The Vamp edit) - (8:06) 124 BPM
Sheik Chic - (5:41) 118 BPM
One Hundred & Nine - (7:54) 123 BPM
from $1.95
Review: The ever meticulous Persnickety All Stars are already back with a new single, and this time they've got company in the form of the one and only DJ Bang. "Sheik Chic" isn't a Middle Eastern take on Nile Rogers veteran disco act, but it does tweak, speed up and subtly extend their iconic "Chic Cheer". "One Hundred And Nine" is a killer 80s electro-soul-pop gem, the kind of thing you'd hear in Beverly Hills Cop. DJ Bang also works "I Don't Know" into a long and writhing funk snake complete with screeching sax and sighing ladies. Party time!

Livin It Up (DJ Bang edit) - (8:31) 123 BPM
Tryin It Out (Mr Snippy edit) - (7:42) 119 BPM
Knockin It Down (DJ Bang edit) - (5:25) 122 BPM
from $1.95
Review: Serial scalpel offenders Persnickety Allstars return with another trio of tried-and-tested, dancefloor-friendly reworks, two of which are nigh on essential. Opener "Livin' It Up" (re-edited by DJ Bang), an urgent but undulating chunk of Prince style Purple funk, is particularly good, getting just the right balance between extending the track's heavier instrumental passages and retaining the addictive vocal. "Knockin' It Down", a fearsome, delightfully heavy rework of Shep Pettibone's classic mix of Weeks & Co's "Knock Knock" by DJ Bang, is even better. Edited and rearranged in the original '80s New York disco dubs style, it's actually an improvement on the almost untouchable original. Impressive stuff.

Brokeaway (Mr. Snippy's Uptempo edit) - (7:12) 122 BPM
Let Me Be Good To You (Matpat edit) - (6:19) 118 BPM
The Final Round (DJ Bang's 12" version) - (5:15) 121 BPM
from $1.95
Review: Another Persnickety release and another fine clutch of edits to add to any discerning disco head. And they've really gone to town on this. Fittingly First Choice are up first; their squidgy bass n' string session perfectly dissected by Snippet to form a more subdued, deeper groove. Next up, Lou Rawls "Let Me Be Good To You" gets a deep techy treatment from Matpat Difference. With just snippet of vocal and a whole new whirligig of psychedelia, it's more a complete overhaul than an edit. Finally we hit Kasso's "One More Round". Once remixed by Mr Knuckles, now sassed up by DJ Bang, it's been given a total groove refocus while retaining the enduring playground pop flavours.

U Saved The Days - (7:22) 120 BPM

Review: Edit kings Persnickety follow up their "Chicago Philly Combo" EP with another couplet of disco gems. First we find the All Stars digging deep and heading to Detroit for an update on Brainstorm's 78 hit "Hot For You". Meanwhile on the B Side they plunder the wealthy vaults of Cheryl Lynn. Known best for the million versions of "To Be Real", here we find the lesser known, but equally soulful and stunning, "You Saved My Day" going under the knife. Like all Persnickety releases, both are guaranteed floor fillers and both pay complete respect to the originals.
